"Jaish al-Adl" Claims Responsibility for Attack on Iranian Police Vehicle

Tasnime News Agency reported today, Tuesday, an armed attack on two Iranian police vehicles on the Souran – Mehrastan route. The agency cited informed sources stating that 6 police officers were killed in the attack carried out by Jaish al-Adl.

The source explained that an hour before the news was published, two police vehicles were targeted by "terrorists" on the Souran - Mehrastan road in Sistan and Baluchestan province, resulting in multiple police casualties and injuries.

Following this, Tasnim published new details about the attack, mentioning that the police were transporting the main suspect in the murder of officer "Hossein Ali Sheibak" when they came under fire. According to a source for the Balochistan Monitor on Telegram, "Jaish al-Adl militants used silenced weapons in this attack, so no gunfire sounds were heard."

Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility for the attack by releasing a brief statement indicating that the targeted force was an intelligence operations unit accompanied by special forces.

On April 4, the Sunni militant group announced its responsibility for two nighttime attacks targeting a Revolutionary Guard base in the city of Rask and a police station in Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchestan. According to official figures, 16 police officers and 18 attackers were killed in those incidents.
