Hezbollah Targets Israeli Battalion in Golan with Drones

Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Sunday that it launched an attack with a swarm of assault drones on the headquarters of the combat battalion at the Yarden military base in the Golan. They added, "We destroyed the Iron Dome radar at the Yarden base and caused casualties among the officers and soldiers." In response, the Israeli army stated that its aircraft bombed a facility used by Hezbollah in the Bekaa Valley, in retaliation for Hezbollah's use of a missile on Saturday to shoot down an Israeli drone in Lebanese airspace.

Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it "destroyed part of the command headquarters of the 769th Brigade at the Kiryat Shmona barracks using heavy Burkan missiles." They also stated, "In the morning on Saturday, we targeted and destroyed the new surveillance equipment at the Marj border site." The Israeli army reported on Saturday that it shot down one of its own drones over Lebanese territory with a surface-to-air missile. Israeli army radio mentioned that "the drone was shot down by a missile launched by Hezbollah."

Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging gunfire simultaneously with the war in Gaza, marking the worst cross-border conflict from southern Lebanon since 2006, raising concerns about the escalation of fighting in the region.
