Beirut Arab University, represented by its president Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, signed a cooperation protocol with the Beirut Behkir Association, represented by its president, former minister Mohammed Shuqair. The signing was attended by Dr. Ammar Houri, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Birr and Ihsan Endowment and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Beirut Arab University, university secretary general Dr. Omar Houri, pharmacist Samer Sobra, and several members of the Board of Trustees.
The protocol aims to provide social and charitable assistance, enhance health and social services, and increase access to medical services for those in need. It emphasizes "assisting needy patients" and meeting their needs through comprehensive healthcare, which includes effectively receiving and treating needy patients with high quality by the university through the healthcare center. This will ensure health and care services for all individuals whose healthcare bills are covered by the association and who possess documentation that allows them to benefit from a distinguished package of services currently available at the healthcare center, in addition to all services that may be offered in the future.
Dr. Ammar Houri highlighted the importance of this agreement as it serves the Lebanese community and constitutes an advanced healthcare value through the healthcare center. He noted that the Beirut Behkir Association, led by Minister Mohammed Shuqair, generously extends a helping hand to our community and assists the poor and needy, expressing a wish for Beirut Arab University to develop from excellent to even more distinguished.
In turn, Minister Mohammed Shuqair thanked Dr. Ammar Houri and Beirut Arab University, stating that he was honored to meet in this prestigious institution of which he is proud and that expands his heart. Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam then expressed his gratitude for this kind gesture and thanked those who contributed to this charitable endeavor, hoping that these generous hands continue their efforts and expand from the health center to a hospital for Beirut Arab University to assist patients and those in need.
After the signing, a tour was organized of the facilities at the healthcare center affiliated with Beirut Arab University, where attendees were briefed on the high level of the specialized team and the modern equipment available at the center.
