Russia: A Major Treaty is Being Worked On with Iran

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated on Wednesday that "Moscow is working on what she described as a major treaty with Iran." Her comments appear to refer to a comprehensive bilateral cooperation agreement currently being negotiated between Tehran and Moscow. In January, the Russian Foreign Ministry mentioned that a new agreement between the two countries reflects the "unprecedented improvement" in Russia-Iran relations and is in the final stages of being concluded.
