Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced today, Monday, that over a thousand members of the "Hamas" movement are receiving treatment in hospitals across Turkey, reiterating his stance that Hamas is a "resistance movement." He expressed his sorrow regarding Athens' view that Hamas is a terrorist organization during a press conference following talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Ankara. For his part, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that "Greece and Turkey do not agree on all issues related to the war in Gaza, but they can agree on the need to end the violence and establish a long-term ceasefire." In response to Erdoğan's remark about feeling saddened by the Greek perspective characterizing Hamas as a "terrorist" organization, Mitsotakis said, "Let's agree that we disagree" on this matter.
