Are Paris Airports Heading Towards a Strike?

Several unions at the company operating Paris airports called for a strike on July 17, about ten days before the opening of the Olympic Games, demanding a bonus "for all employees" during this period of expected congestion. The unions CGT, CFDT, FO, and UNSA stated in a press release that they would "boycott all forms of meetings with management," urging for the "strike on July 17 until their demands are met." They condemned in the statement the "unilateral decisions made by the Chairman to grant bonuses to only a portion of the employees," demanding guarantees for vacation provision. Thousands of athletes are expected to start arriving for the Olympic Games from July 18 when the Olympic Village opens.
