Green Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom is one of the most prominent countries in the world concerning climate and environmental issues, accelerating the journey toward green transformation in the Kingdom, reducing and removing emissions, and addressing climate change. These issues have become some of the most significant challenges facing the world since the Industrial Revolution due to the increase in emissions and rising temperatures, as human activity causes severe damage affecting all countries, communities, and economic sectors. This necessitates unifying nations around adapting to the negative impacts of climate change.

With the world's attention turning toward these global issues, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of the second edition of the Middle East Green Initiative Summit and the Saudi Green Initiative Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, under the slogan: "From Ambition to Action," coinciding with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), an annual summit attended by 197 countries to discuss climate change and what these countries are doing to confront and address this problem.

The Saudi Green Initiative aims to accelerate the journey towards green transformation in the Kingdom, reduce and remove emissions, and tackle climate change. Experts have described the Middle East Green Initiative and the Saudi Green Initiative as ambitious national initiatives with global aspirations aimed at improving the quality of life and protecting future generations, as they represent the natural extension of the ambitious Vision 2030.
