Video: School Collapse and Student Fatalities

Twenty-two students were killed due to the collapse of a school in the Busa Bogi area of Nigeria shortly after their arrival. The Nigerian National Emergency Management Agency reported that "rescue, health workers, and security forces have been deployed at the scene." The two-storey secondary school building, Saints Academy, located in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, collapsed this morning, July 12, 2024. The state government blamed the tragedy on "the poor structure of the school and its location near the riverbank."
