Germany Reaches Peak Capacity in Providing Aid to Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz indicated on Saturday that his country has reached the maximum capacity for military aid to Ukraine, reiterating that Berlin does not intend to stop this support. According to "NTV," Scholz stated that German military assistance to Ukraine has amounted to 28 billion euros, and the 2024 budget allocates more than 7 billion euros in additional aid.

Scholz mentioned that "Berlin recently promised to supply Kyiv with a third system of Patriot missiles" to encourage other countries to increase their support for Kyiv, adding, "We provide everything we can." He noted that his country "will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine as long as it is needed."

Regarding the supply of long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv, Scholz confirmed that this step is difficult, as German military personnel would have to "identify targets themselves." He stated, "This is impossible if you want to avoid direct involvement in the conflict and prefer to remain the largest donor to Ukraine in Europe."
