Emirates Airlines Plans to Hire 5,000 Cabin Crew in 2024

Emirates Airlines intends to hire 5,000 cabin crew members during this year, announcing global recruitment campaigns across six continents that will increase its hospitality staff by 25%. The airline stated in a press release today that it is starting the new year with the upcoming arrival of its first Airbus A350 aircraft and a global hiring campaign for the cabin crew.

Emirates Airlines invited young individuals seeking an exciting career to travel the world to join its cabin crew, specifically new graduates with internship experience or part-time jobs on their resumes and those with about one year of experience in hospitality or customer service. The airline remarked, "Employees will work for the world's largest international carrier and one of the most recognizable brands, while learning hospitality skills from the best trainers in the field. They will also travel the world to over 140 cities in 76 countries and enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits while working."

The recruitment team at Emirates Airlines plans to organize open days and assessment sessions throughout 2024 in over 460 cities across the six continents, reflecting the vastness of its network and the diversity of its service crew, who live and work in the thriving city of Dubai. In 2023, Emirates Airlines hired 8,000 cabin crew members and held recruitment events in 353 cities as part of its efforts to scale up services following the pandemic. The number of cabin crew members exceeded 20,000 in August 2023, now reaching over 21,500 individuals.

This new recruitment campaign for cabin crew comes ahead of Emirates Airlines' receipt of its new Airbus A350 aircraft, starting mid-year, and Boeing 777-X aircraft beginning in 2025. Emirates' confirmed orders include 65 A350 aircraft and a mix of 205 Boeing 777-9 and 777-8 aircraft. The new planes will be used to expand and modernize the fleet, providing flexibility to add new destinations to its network.

According to the airline, new cabin crew members undergo an intensive eight-week training program to provide the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and service that Emirates customers have come to expect over the years. Crew members acquire many skills at Emirates’ modern facilities in Dubai, including communication, initiative, leadership, and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team, while maintaining strength, clarity of thought, and composure under pressure, becoming references in hospitality and service excellence while serving as ambassadors for a globally recognized brand. Cabin crew also have access to the latest training programs and LinkedIn courses.

The culturally diverse team at Emirates Airlines comprises over 140 nationalities, with its members speaking 130 languages, enabling customers to communicate in their native language.
