Iran: 6 Candidates Nominated for Presidential Elections So Far

The spokesperson for the electoral headquarters in Iran, Mohsen Islami, announced that "so far, 6 individuals have registered for the presidential elections," including Mohammad Reza Sabaghian, Mostafa Kavakebian, Abbas Moqtadaei, Qodratali Hashmatian, former Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, and Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) Ali Larijani. Islami clarified, as reported by the "Mehr" agency, that "those entering the presidential competition must hold a master's degree, be aged between 40 to 75 years, have at least 4 years of experience managing the country's overall responsibilities, and must not have a negative background." Yesterday, the registration process for candidates in the presidential elections in Iran began and will continue until June 6, 2024. This process will last for 5 days, after which the qualified candidates who meet the necessary conditions will be determined, with the 14th presidential elections scheduled for June 28.
