Israeli Tank Runs Over Reserve Soldiers' Cars Near Gaza

The Israeli army announced today, Friday, the opening of an investigation into an incident where an Israeli tank ran over the cars of reserve soldiers in the Gaza perimeter settlements. Israeli Channel 12 reported today that the Israeli army ordered a military investigation into the tank damaging vehicles belonging to reserve soldiers while they were in the Gaza border settlements near the Kerem Shalom area. The channel quoted a settler from the region stating that fortunately, there was no one inside the cars, as the tank cut the vehicles in half.

The Israeli army had previously announced yesterday, Thursday, that a soldier was killed during clashes with Palestinian infiltrators at the Kerem Shalom crossing in southern Israel. Channel 13 reported that the Israeli army confirmed the death of Sergeant Zaid Mazareb (34), who was killed during the clashes with Palestinian infiltrators attempting to breach the border fence from the Rafah area in southern Gaza. The Israeli army radio explained that a group of armed Palestinians tried to cross from the Kerem Shalom area in Rafah into Israeli territory, while three Palestinians were killed after clashes and mutual gunfire occurred between the two sides.
