The Palestinian Ministry of Finance announced today, Thursday, that it plans to disburse fifty percent of the salaries for Palestinian Authority employees in both the civilian and military sectors for the month of April at the beginning of next week, amid an ongoing financial crisis. The ministry stated in a press release that "the date for disbursing public employees’ salaries for the month of April is Sunday, at fifty percent of the salary, with a minimum of 2000 shekels." The ministry continued in its statement, "The remaining outstanding dues are owed to the employees and will be disbursed when financial capabilities allow." Israel collects tax revenues on goods that pass through it to the Palestinian market for a three percent commission, as it controls all crossings that link the West Bank to the outside world.
