Title: Statement from the Ministry of Finance Regarding the Incident in Sri Lanka

Lebanese doctor Dana Bou Darghem and her brother, named Baha, were involved in a drowning accident in Sri Lanka. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, and Dana is currently in intensive care, while her brother's condition is stable. According to information, the doctor requires an urgent transfer by equipped aircraft to Lebanon due to the inadequate medical capabilities in Sri Lanka and the lack of necessary medications and treatments.

Wiam Wahhab, head of the "Arab Unity" party, raised the issue of the doctor, stating in a tweet on X: "A doctor not older than thirty was involved in an accident in Sri Lanka with her doctor brother, and her condition requires her transfer by medical aircraft to Lebanon." He added, "For two days we have been trying with the Supreme Relief Authority with no result because the Minister of Finance is unresponsive and seems to be spending money only on looting militias in Lebanon."

Thank You... and Demands

Later, Wahhab thanked the insurance company for "responding to his tweet and contacting the family of doctor Dana Bou Darghem, although the call was late." He continued: "I demand that they fulfill their duty, and I thank the head of the Health Committee, MP Bilal Abdullah, who acted in multiple directions responsibly, and I thank all the good people who contacted the family and assisted. I hope what remains of the state awakens."

In contrast, the media office of the Ministry of Finance issued a statement regarding what is being circulated about securing the cost of transferring a Lebanese doctor involved in an accident in Sri Lanka back to Lebanon on a medical aircraft due to her condition's requirements.

The statement clarified that "the ministry and the Minister of Finance have no knowledge of this incident, nor has anyone contacted them or consulted them about the possibility of securing assistance from the state to fund this transfer. It is known that the funding process requires a decision and procedures from the competent authorities, which did not happen. If any new developments occur, the ministry will be committed to what is approved. Thus, clarification was necessary."
