A train passed over an elderly woman who fell onto the tracks in her electric wheelchair on Tuesday, and she emerged nearly unscathed from the incident, Swiss police announced on Wednesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Kaiseraugst station, near the city of Basel in northwestern Switzerland, according to the Aargau cantonal police. The police stated that the 70-year-old woman was "extremely lucky" because she became stuck right in the middle between the two tracks, so the train that passed over her only hit her slightly. The woman was taken to the hospital, along with another person who was on the platform. The incident caused a disruption in train services at the Kaiseraugst station for several hours. At this stage, police are ruling out any intentional involvement by a third party in the incident.
