Egypt: Singer Runs Over a Citizen and Court Issues Ruling

Egyptian popular festival singer, Issam Sasa, has left the forensic medicine department after being tested for drugs following an incident where he ran over a man named Ahmed Muftah, 40 years old, on the Monib Ring Road, leading to the man's death.

According to Sasa's brother, the singer returned home after undergoing the drug test at the forensic medicine department on Tuesday, related to the incident on the Monib Ring Road and the deceased attempting to cross the road.

Sasa's brother stated in an interview with "Cairo 24" that Issam Sasa has allocated a monthly salary for the deceased's family, saying: "We will compensate them with a respectable amount and a monthly pension," and he expressed condolences to the deceased's family.

Security forces in Giza arrested popular festival singer Issam Sasa, accusing him of running over a person on the ring road in Monib. According to details, law enforcement in Giza received a report from Al-Haram Hospital concerning the arrival of a lifeless body following an accident on the ring road.

Immediately, security personnel were dispatched to investigate the report and uncover the circumstances of the incident, revealing that a person died after being hit by a private car on the ring road in Monib. The body was transferred to the hospital's morgue, and a necessary report regarding the incident was filed, with investigations assigned to the relevant authorities.

Issam Sasa caused the death of a citizen on the ring road, stating he was returning from the Maadi area heading to his home in the Gardens of the Pyramids. He clarified: "I was coming from Maadi heading to my house in the Gardens of the Pyramids, driving at a speed of less than 70, and a high-roofed white minibus was in front of me when the victim suddenly appeared before me."
