Cautious Calm in Border Villages Amid Israeli Drone Activity

The border area in the eastern sector is witnessing a calm filled with anticipation and extreme caution, extending from the Majidiyah Al-Ghajar Plain, outside the town of Al-Mari in the Hasbaya district, to the areas of Al-Arqoub Hasbaya and the Shebaa Farms. Reconnaissance drones flew continuously throughout the night and into the morning over the areas of Naqoura, Shma, Majdel Zoun, and Tyre Harfa, in addition to the flight of warplanes that broke the sound barrier over border villages.

Israeli warplanes targeted several homes in the town of Aita Shaab at night, in two waves, causing severe damage to property, agriculture, and homes, especially affecting the electricity and water networks. Consequently, civil defense teams from the Islamic Scout Association and the Islamic Health Authority rushed to the sites of the airstrikes and worked on clearing the rubble from the roads in the town.

The area between the towns of Alima Al-Shaab and Marouhin, up to the town of Ramieh, has been subjected to heavy machine gun fire from positions adjacent to the Blue Line. At night, the Israeli army fired flare bombs over the villages in the territories of Tyre and Bint Jbeil. It is noteworthy that the displacement crisis has begun to worsen, with a significant shortage of services and supplies being provided to the displaced.

Hezbollah’s military media announced in a statement that “during an attempt by an Israeli hostile force to infiltrate Lebanese territory in the Qatmoon Valley opposite Ramieh, fighters from the Islamic Resistance targeted them with rocket fire at 11:45 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024, achieving direct hits.” They also announced that “during an attempt by a hostile Israeli force from the Golani Brigade to infiltrate Lebanese territory from the direction of Kherbat Zar'it opposite the Lebanese town of Ramieh, fighters from the Islamic Resistance detonated a large explosive device at the infiltrating force at 12:15 AM on Monday, March 4, 2024, and then targeted them with several artillery shells, achieving direct hits.”

In another statement, Hezbollah announced that "at 1:30 AM on Monday, March 4, 2024, they targeted the Zar'it barracks and its surroundings with artillery."
