The total agricultural exports of Egypt during the first half of this year reached 4.9 million tons. Egyptian Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk, announced that the monetary value of Egyptian agricultural exports amounted to 2.9 billion dollars, marking an increase of 600 million dollars compared to the same period last year. The Minister stated that there is ongoing support for the export system, aiming to achieve the presidential goal of reaching 100 billion dollars in Egyptian exports from all sectors by 2030, noting that the agricultural sector is a fundamental pillar of Egypt's national income. The Ministry of Agriculture mentioned that Egyptian agricultural products reach more than 160 countries with over 350 agricultural commodities, despite regional and international challenges. Egyptian commodity exports totaled approximately 12.912 billion dollars during the first four months of 2024, compared to 11.782 billion dollars during the same period in 2023, reflecting an increase of 10 percent.
