The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the "next day" principles document for Gaza war proposed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that it aims to prolong the war and implement a displacement plan. The ministry's statement described Netanyahu's principles for the aftermath of the war as an "official recognition of the reoccupation of the Gaza Strip and the imposition of Israeli control over it," characterizing it as a strategy to extend the genocidal war against our people and an attempt to buy more time to execute the displacement plan.
It referred to the proposal as a "transparent maneuver to obstruct and undermine American and international efforts to link the arrangements for ending the war and the release of prisoners and hostages to resolving the conflict and realizing the Palestinian state on the ground." The ministry noted that "Netanyahu's principles explain the reasons for his hostility and exclusion of the legitimate Palestinian Authority and reveal his true position rejecting the Palestinian state and political solutions to the conflict, opting instead for wars and cycles of violence to prolong his and the far-right's grip on power."
The ministry urged the U.S. administration and Western countries to "quickly recognize the Palestinian state and support its full membership in the United Nations, and to initiate international arrangements for holding a peace conference that leads to ending the 'occupation' and enables our people to freely and dignifiedly exercise their right to self-determination on their homeland and state, as outlined in international legitimacy resolutions."
