Turkey: Flight Suspension at Izmir Airport Due to Nearby Forest Fire

Pegasus Airlines announced today, Thursday, that Izmir Airport in Turkey has suspended its operations and redirected flights to nearby cities due to a forest fire that broke out in the area. Pegasus added in a statement on the social media platform X that Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir is temporarily closed, and incoming flights will be redirected to Bodrum Airport. A local governor's office reported that Turkey has deployed seven aircraft and 16 helicopters to combat the fire, as well as 35 firefighting trucks.
