Al-Baysari: To Confront Difficulties and Build State Institutions

The Media Affairs Office of the General Security announced in a statement that "On the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation, the Acting Director General of General Security, Major General Elias Al-Baysari, addressed the military personnel of the General Directorate of General Security with the following directive: 'On this day, 24 years ago, Lebanon, with its people, army, and resistance, achieved a historic victory over the Israeli enemy, expelling it from most Lebanese territories unconditionally, and defeating the myth of the invincible army, armed with its just cause for which martyrs were sacrificed and great sacrifices made, opening a new path to restore rights, based on the power of justice in the face of the power of violence.' He added: 'O soldiers, the Israeli enemy seeks to obtain security at the expense of peace, and at the expense of legitimate rights in restoring the occupied Lebanese territories, and it refuses the return of Palestinian refugees to their land and independent state, which is a sacred and historical right for them.' He continued: 'Israel, with its persistent behavior of killing and destruction, is pushing the region towards comprehensive confrontation, and the international community must put an end to this ongoing aggression for the past seventy-six years. Until justice is achieved, we must adhere to the option of steadfastness and confront the assault on our homeland, especially in our dear South, which has endured long hardships.' Al-Baysari said: 'On May 25, we regained sovereignty, and we must continue to confront difficulties and challenges to complete the establishment of state institutions.' He concluded: 'On this occasion, no Lebanese can do anything but bow to the memory that gave, and still gives, a lesson in the significance of regaining sovereignty and preserving national dignity by means chosen by the Lebanese themselves.'"
