The Jazan Municipal Authority has focused on public parks in the city of Jizan and its surrounding governorates, centers, and villages, as part of its efforts to enhance the tourism sector by preparing parks and recreational areas with high specifications and facilities. These parks have become an important element of national and government project plans and a key component for attracting visitors. Additionally, the recreational park project sector has witnessed continuous growth each year through the organization of events and festivals in these parks to create a fun atmosphere for visitors.
The municipality of Sabya Governorate has prepared 9 public parks in the region, including several centers and villages. These parks include King Fahd Eastern Park with a total area of 33,928 square meters, King Fahd Arabic Park with an area of 20,116 square meters, King Abdullah Park with an area of 30,955 square meters, Al-Majd Park with an area of 20,116 square meters, Al-Safa Park with an area of 38,303 square meters, Al-Baheer Park with 7,173 square meters, the Weekly Market Park with an area of 22,422 square meters, Al-Murooj Park with an area of 116,821 square meters, and Al-Mohamadiyah Park with an area of 13,900 square meters. These parks feature seating areas, green spaces, a public square, and children's playgrounds, in addition to public services and facilities that cater to families and individuals, including four walking paths totaling 30,870 linear meters and nine sports fields for physical activity aimed at enhancing quality of life, suitable for the needs of various community segments. They serve as a tourist and recreational attraction for residents and visitors to the governorate.
The head of the Sabya Municipality, Engineer Mohammed bin Mohsen Al-Khurmi, clarified that the parks and recreational areas are part of a comprehensive system of environmental, cultural, and recreational programs and projects aimed at enhancing the human dimension and elevating the quality of services in line with the aspirations of citizens and residents, while also complying with the Quality of Life Program and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 initiatives. These efforts focus on improving the lifestyle of individuals and families, building a community where individuals enjoy a balanced lifestyle, and encouraging increased engagement in leisure and recreation.
