Opening of Sharjah Theater Days: Key Attendees and Highlights

The opening ceremony of the 33rd edition of the Sharjah Theater Days festival took place this Saturday evening, organized by the Theater Administration within the Department of Culture in Sharjah, chaired by artist Ahmed Bou Rahima. The event was attended by Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, along with Ashraf Zaki, Head of the Acting Professions Syndicate, Dr. Samah Mahran, Head of the Experimental Festival, Jamal Yaqout, director Nasser Abdel-Moneim, artist Mazen Al Gharbawi, Head of the Sharm El Sheikh International Festival for Youth Theater, Dalia Hemam, Head of the Cairo International Festival for Arab Children, director Sherif Sorour, director of the Al Hanager Theater for Arts, artist Samah Magahid, Director of the Future Theater, and director Tarek Al-Dweiri.

From the Arab countries, attendees included Khalifa Al Hajri from Kuwait, artist Abdelilah Al Sanani from Saudi Arabia, artist Asad Fadda from Syria, artist Asmahan Tawfiq from Kuwait, artist Abdullah Rashid from the UAE, artist Saleh Zalal from Oman, Fahd Al Maadhan from Kuwait, and artist Sami Al Jumaan from Saudi Arabia, among others.

The 33rd edition of the Sharjah Theater Days, which will continue until March 9, provides a platform for theatrical performances and cultural exchange.

It is worth mentioning that the Sharjah Theater Days is a cultural theatrical event held annually under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The festival features theater groups from the UAE and is supervised by a high committee with specialized subcommittees, including a jury for the theatrical competition, which consists of prominent Arab and local theatrical professionals. The festival hosts playwrights, thinkers, and major actors from various Arab and foreign countries to engage with theater performances and participate in practical workshops and intellectual seminars alongside open discussions, creating an interactive environment beneficial for UAE theater professionals.
