Iran on the Path to Self-Sufficiency by 2032

The head of the Agricultural Research, Education and Promotion Organization of Iran, Mojtaba Kheyam Nekooi, announced that Iran will achieve self-sufficiency or be on the verge of self-sufficiency in many strategic agricultural crops by 2032. Nekooi stated today, Sunday, that the national knowledge document in the field of food security has been completed for the first time after 44 years following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and it is prepared for the next ten years. He added that the document points to the surveying of agricultural lands in the country to establish a specific agricultural model for all these lands. This document emphasizes increased productivity and the enhanced use of science and knowledge in agricultural production, leading to positive developments in the agricultural sector. Nekooi considered that providing citizens with the food they need is food security, and countries must ensure food security for their people through domestic production, trade, or agriculture outside their borders.
