The Lebanese Army's Directorate of Guidance issued a statement stating: "On July 19, 2024, as part of the efforts to combat irregular migration, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested 86 Syrians in the Al-Abdeh area who were preparing to migrate by sea illegally towards Italy. The boat was also seized. An investigation has commenced with the detainees under the supervision of the relevant judiciary."
