Speaker of the House Nabih Berri sent a message today, Thursday, to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian Shura Council President Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, condemning the "terrorist attack that targeted Kerman city and expressing condolences for the martyrs." In the message to Ayatollah Khamenei, Berri stated: "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, 'And whoever is killed unjustly—we have certainly given his heir authority.' God Almighty has spoken the truth. Your Eminence, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, may God protect you. We are pained by the grave loss that the Islamic Republic has suffered due to the wicked terrorist attack that targeted the safe civilians in Kerman city, resulting in dozens of martyrs and injuries."
He added: "While we condemn this heinous massacre by all moral, legal, and religious standards, it represents not only a terrorist aggression aimed at Iran's security and stability but also confirms beyond doubt that terrorism will not weaken the resolve of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and its people to continue their path of progress and capability." Berri concluded: "We extend our heartfelt condolences to Your Eminence, to the Iranian people, and to the families of the martyrs, asking the Almighty God to envelop the martyrs in His vast mercy, to grant you and their families patience and solace, to grant the injured swift recovery, and to keep you and the Islamic Republic in safety, strength, and capability. Indeed, He is the best protector and supporter."
For the same purpose, the Speaker also sent a message to Dr. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf. The message included: "On my behalf and on behalf of the parliamentary council, I share with you and all members of the Shura Council in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people the highest expressions of condolences, sympathy, and solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the injured who fell victim to the terrorist attack targeting civilians in Kerman city. As we condemn this heinous terrorist crime, we implore God Almighty to envelop the martyrs in His vast mercy and to grant the injured swift healing and enduring security and stability to the Islamic Republic of Iran."
