German Finance Minister Christian Lindner noted on Wednesday that "spending policy in Germany needs to be adjusted to align with global developments and therefore modify spending on international humanitarian aid." Lindner explained in a press conference in Berlin that "the balance is shifting slightly" and that Germany needs to invest more in achieving security. He added, "We cannot continue to be involved everywhere in the world as we are now, because even Germany's capabilities, which have made it the fourth largest economy in the world, will become limited at some point."
