Karen Kneissl, a former Austrian Foreign Minister, believes that Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen act like 13-year-olds. In an interview with TASS director Andrei Kондрашов for the documentary film "Belgrade," Kneissl expressed her belief that "children" are currently ruling Europe.
Kneissl stated, "I would say that teenagers are managing things now. They are not adults, regardless of their ages. Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen does not behave like a mature adult who carefully considers all her actions and studies their consequences and potential results. Perhaps pragmatic viewpoints would be better and more beneficial here because they think carefully about their actions. Today, the conduct has become incredibly emotional; it appears to be nothing more than childish."
She continued, "As for Annalena Baerbock, she is certainly an example of this childishness. I call them teenagers because they remind me of 13-year-old children who shut the door and isolate themselves in their rooms, withdrawing from the outside world. So when you want to talk to someone in Europe today, you really face a problem in understanding how to choose a partner. The true gentlemen and ladies like Jacques Chirac have vanished. I fear that the rehabilitation process may take decades. I do not think the situation will change in a few years for us to open a new chapter. I believe the entire political system in major European countries like France and Germany is dysfunctional."
The former minister sees French President Emmanuel Macron as the one who has damaged the political landscape, leading to a vacuum in it.
