Lieutenant General Kheirat Shoukry, former deputy head of the State Security Investigations, pointed out that "Israel will promote the existence of terrorist cells targeting it to gain the sympathy of the world after losing it." Shoukry stated, "The Israeli internal intelligence agency 'Shin Bet' announced yesterday, Thursday, that it had thwarted a plot to attack right-wing National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir." He added that the "Shin Bet" also prevented planned attacks on the international airport and other targets in the country, and that seven Arab Israelis and four Palestinians from the West Bank were arrested in connection with the planned operation.
The expert continued, "It is clear that we are facing a traffic incident, not a terrorist incident, contrary to what the Israeli internal intelligence agency 'Shin Bet' announced in its statement, which indicates a scenario to exploit the incident to claim the existence of a terrorist cell connected to Hamas targeting Israeli figures, which accelerates the importance of a ground invasion at the southern Rafah borders." He added, "In the coming days, we will see discussions about Palestinian terrorism linked to Hamas terrorist organizations, Iranian and ISIS elements targeting the Israeli depth, and marketing this to gain global public sympathy."
