Title: Man Claimed His Son Was Kidnapped, Later Admitted to Murdering Him

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced the following: On May 30, 2024, a man (M.A., born in 1980, Syrian) filed a complaint at the Shihime Police Station within the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, claiming that unknown individuals had kidnapped him and his child, and then threw him into the Wadi al-Mughariyah while leaving the child with them.

As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries carried out by this police station, and after following up and analyzing the complainant's allegations, it became clear that his statements were inconsistent with the facts revealed by the investigation, confirming that he was providing false information.

Subsequently, the suspect was summoned to the police station, and when confronted with evidence proving the falsity of his claims, particularly the contradictions in his testimony, he confessed to killing his minor son in one of the forests in the Wadi al-Mughariyah area. He added that he had also been planning to kill his wife and then himself due to the financial difficulties he was facing and the mounting debts.

The victim's body was found and examined by a forensic doctor and the criminal evidence office within the Judicial Police Unit. Legal procedures were taken against the detained individual, and he was referred to the appropriate judiciary based on the authorities' direction.
