Al-Qassam Targets Kerem Shalom Site: Fatalities and Injuries

Israeli media reported today, Sunday, that "two Israeli soldiers were killed and several others were seriously injured due to rockets falling on the Kerem Shalom area near Gaza." It was indicated that "more than 10 were injured, including 4 in critical condition as a result of the shelling on the Kerem Shalom area, and helicopters are transporting the injured." For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced "the shelling of gatherings of Israeli army forces at the Kerem Shalom site and its surroundings using a short-range rocket system (Rajum) with a caliber of 114 mm." The Israeli army closed the Kerem Shalom crossing and prohibited the entry of aid trucks through it. An update regarding the security incident in Kerem Shalom includes the death of two soldiers and the injury of 10, some in serious to moderate condition, following the Palestinian resistance targeting troops with mortar shells and rockets. The spokesman for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, stated: "Following the activation of warning sirens in Kerem Shalom, approximately ten rocket shells were detected launched from an area near the Rafah crossing towards the Kerem Shalom area. The Kerem Shalom crossing is currently closed to truck traffic."
