Erdogan: We Hope the Voice of the Oppressed Will Grow

In a message for the New Year, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his country's hope for a more beautiful, peaceful, and prosperous future for humanity, noting that "the unjust global system is in its final stages." He added that "for this reason, we must see that so-called democratic and liberal states are cutting their support for bloody terrorist organizations. To achieve this, we must first see all countries and institutions take a united stance against the killing of innocent children and women in Gaza."

Erdogan stated that "therefore, we must work towards making fair and sincere efforts to stop conflicts that cause suffering to individuals and waste the resources of nations, especially the Russian-Ukrainian war." He emphasized that "we must see that the wealth of communities that have been exploited and whose dignity has been violated for centuries is used for their future, prosperity, and security." He added that "to turn hopes into reality, we need to ensure that all countries, institutions, and individuals around the world integrate around shared values and principles."

Erdogan stressed that Turkey "as a state and a nation" is not only striving for its own security and welfare but also wishes the same standards for everyone based on the belief that "we cannot find peace until a climate of peace prevails in the world and our region." He mentioned that "with this understanding, we are trying to make our peace efforts in our region fruitful and maintain our relations with our friends at all times."

He expressed his country's belief that "the tyranny of the oppressors will not last forever, that the unjust and unbalanced global system is in its final stages, and that the voice of the oppressed deeply surrounds everyone around the world, and that this voice will grow and become the common conscience of humanity."
