Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly submitted the government’s resignation to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during their meeting today, Monday. Sisi tasked Madbouly with forming a new government composed of qualified individuals with exceptional skills and experiences “to achieve several objectives, primarily preserving the framework of Egyptian national security in light of regional and international challenges, prioritizing the development of the Egyptian citizen, particularly in health and education, continuing efforts to enhance political participation, as well as addressing security, stability, and counter-terrorism issues to strengthen what has been accomplished in this regard, and developing cultural and national awareness files, along with moderate religious discourse that fosters concepts of citizenship and community peace.”
Additionally, Sisi’s directives regarding the new government’s formation included “continuing the path of economic reform, focusing on attracting and increasing local and foreign investments, encouraging the growth of the private sector, and making every effort to curb rising prices and inflation while regulating markets, as part of a comprehensive development of the state's economic performance across all sectors.”
The Egyptian president tasked the current government with continuing to manage affairs and perform its duties until the new government is established.
