Pope Francis gathered the Israeli and Palestinian ambassadors in the Vatican Gardens yesterday, Friday, to pray for an end to the war in Gaza, marking the tenth anniversary of a similar meeting with the Israeli and Palestinian presidents, along with a renewed call for peace. The pope told the small crowd, which included about twenty cardinals and members of the diplomatic corps at the Vatican, "I pray every day that this war will finally end." Among those present were Israeli Ambassador Rafael Schutz and Palestinian Ambassador Issa Qasisia, along with representatives from the Jewish and Muslim communities in Italy.
