Open Doors: A Major Awareness Day for Conservatory Students

Under the slogan "Music for All," the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music organized an "Open Doors" day at the Forum de Beyrouth. This initiative was launched by the conservatory's president, Hiba Kawass, and attracted a large turnout of nearly a thousand students, along with many interested individuals eager to learn music, representing most branches of the national conservatory distributed across 18 locations in various Lebanese regions.

In a unique awareness step and educational initiative, the conservatory aims to make this event a tradition in Lebanon. It provided students with the opportunity to closely explore the world of music, including its instruments, styles, and detailed scientific and educational aspects, encompassing all its Eastern and Western sections.

This special day included scientific and artistic explanations about all musical instruments, both string and wind, through comprehensive introductions. It also exposed children aged 7 to 12 to playing techniques on instruments that hold significant importance in the music world. This was facilitated by music teachers and specialists from the conservatory, as well as musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Eastern Orchestra, alongside international musicians from the Bolshoi Theater and the Mariinsky Theater, who shared their expertise with the students. This interaction sparked excitement and positive engagement among attendees, given the unique experience offered for their musical educational journey and the new professional prospects it opens for the future. Additionally, the event also provided information on enrollment applications, registration, lesson timings, and everything related to joining the conservatory.

Through this initiative, the conservatory aims to prepare a professional generation of musicians, as well as to support them in future orchestral projects, especially since it seeks to establish orchestras for younger age groups. The Open Doors day concluded with a musical concert featuring both faculty members and students.
