The organization "Survival International" has observed members of the "Mashco Piro" tribe, who live in complete isolation from the world, just a few kilometers away from logging activities in the Amazon rainforest in southeastern Peru. The NGO announced that it noticed indigenous tribes during the logging operations. More than 50 tribe members were seen in photos captured in the Monte Salvado area. Authorities also recorded another group of 17 individuals in the nearby Puerto Nuevo area. Volunteers from the organization have called for the cancellation of logging licenses for all companies operating in the region and for the lands to be returned to the Mashco Piro people. According to the organization, the company "Canales Tahuamanu" has carved out over 200 kilometers of roads for trucks designated for transporting timber.
