Outrage Over the Murder of Elias Al-Hosroni

The incident involving the death of Elias Al-Hosroni, a member of the Central Council and former coordinator of the Southern District of the Lebanese Forces, has drawn a series of condemnations, with a consensus on the necessity to reveal and hold accountable those involved.

Samir Geagea, the head of the Lebanese Forces party, pointed out that "it has become clear in the past two days that the death of our comrade Elias Al-Hosroni in Ain Ebel was not the result of a traffic accident as initially reported." He explained that "it became evident from the surveillance cameras of the nearby homes near the accident site that a well-planned ambush involving at least two cars was set up for our comrade Elias, and as he passed, he was abducted by members of the ambush, estimated to be between six and nine individuals, to another location where he was killed."

In a statement, he mentioned that "this new information is now with the security agencies, especially the Intelligence Directorate of the Lebanese Army and the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces," and he called for the "identification of the perpetrators as quickly as possible, given the delicate situation in Ain Ebel and the surrounding villages, and the potential consequences that could arise from this crime if the perpetrators are not identified."

Sami Gemayel, the head of the Kataeb party, condemned the murder of Elias Al-Hosroni in a statement on the platform "X," stating, "We will not demand to know the truth (in the case of Elias Al-Hosroni's murder) because it is as clear as daylight in a security area known for its affiliations," adding, "Yesterday in Majdel, today in Ain Ebel, and tomorrow in any area of Lebanon." He considered that "the homeland is hijacked, and the Lebanese are hostages; we are in a state of steadfastness and resistance, and they will not break our will."

He continued, "May God rest the soul of the brave resistance fighter Elias Al-Hosroni, who was unjustly killed in a 'militia' operation in his beloved town of Ain Ebel."
