The actress Elham Shahin revealed the movie she regrets making. In a radio interview, she stated, "I regret the film not because it is trivial, but because of the message it conveys. It was called 'The Death of Samira,' and I feel very upset with myself. I love art and those who work in art a lot, and I defend them with all my strength. It is known about me that people always say, 'Are you the lawyer for artists?'"
Elham Shahin expressed her regret for producing the film "The Death of Samira," adding, "I may have also been young and had little experience at that time, but it disrespects a very great artist whom I love unusually and wish I had met. I enjoy his art immensely—the great composer, the late Baligh Hamdi."
She continued, "This film was an offense to him, and it is shameful that we produced it. I realized that Egypt made it, and when a great artist like that is disrespected, I am disrespecting my own country because he contributed a lot to it and elevated the level of art in the country."
The film "The Death of Samira," produced in 1985, stars Kamal El Shenawy, Rogha, Elham Shahin, Youssef Shaaban, Mariam Fakher El Din, Osama Abbas, and Widad Hamdi, with a screenplay by Mohamed Al Bashir, script and dialogue by Nabil Ghalam, and directed by Mohamed Al Bashir.
