Tropical Storm Alberto Approaches the Gulf of Mexico

The U.S. National Hurricane Center warned on Wednesday that Tropical Storm Alberto, the first storm named in the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, has formed over the western Gulf of Mexico. The center, based in Miami, noted that the storm is located about 300 kilometers east of Tampico, Mexico, and is accompanied by maximum winds of 65 kilometers per hour. Storm Alberto is likely to dissipate over Mexico tomorrow, Thursday.
