The Competitions Committee of the Spanish Football Federation issued its final decision today, Thursday, regarding the dismissal of Xavi Hernandez, coach of Barcelona, during the match against Atlético Madrid last Sunday in Round 29 of La Liga. The committee decided to reject the appeal submitted by Barcelona to overturn Xavi's red card and imposed a two-match suspension for him against Las Palmas and Cádiz. Consequently, Xavi will be able to sit on the bench for Barcelona during the classic match on April 21st. According to the committee's statement, under Article 127, Xavi received a two-match suspension and was fined 600 euros, with his club Barcelona fined 700 euros. Xavi was sent off in the match, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Barcelona, due to his objections to the referee's decisions, stating in the press conference after the match, "The red card is unjust."
