Cancellation of 150 Canadian Flights Due to Strike

Canadian airline "WestJet" announced in a statement on Saturday that it has canceled 150 flights initially due to a strike by aircraft maintenance engineers and other operational staff. The cancellations have affected approximately 20,000 travelers, according to Bloomberg News. The airline had previously warned of "severe travel disruptions." The company's President and Chief Operating Officer, Diedrich Ben, stated that the strike would lead to damage and increased operating costs.
