The Public Prosecutor, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, is moving towards taking disciplinary actions against the Public Prosecutor in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, due to her defiance of his decisions and the instructions he provided regarding pending cases before her. She has filed motions to disqualify and recuse herself and has not communicated this to him. Judicial sources informed "Anbaa" that Al-Hajjar sent a formal letter to Aoun requesting to review certain files related to the cases filed against her, including those concerning banks. However, she refused and responded to his letter in an unprofessional and improper manner, also mocking and disparaging her colleagues in the public prosecution, particularly the Deputy Public Prosecutor in the South, Judge Raheef Ramadan.
The same sources pointed out that the Mount Lebanon Public Prosecutor informed Al-Hajjar that she would not relinquish her hold on the aforementioned files, especially those related to the banks. She conditioned her compliance with his request on the Chief of the Higher Judicial Council, Judge Suhail Aboud, in his capacity as head of the Higher Disciplinary Council, to disqualify himself from the case against her in response to the motions for disqualification and recusal she filed against him. Furthermore, a knowledgeable source at the Justice Palace in Beirut confirmed to "Anbaa" that the Higher Judicial Council has referred Judge Aoun to judicial inspection due to her defiance of her superior and her disrespect towards her fellow judges.
