In an atmosphere filled with creativity, and in partnership with the School of Architecture and Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) – Fashion Design Program, the award ceremony for the "Design a Uniform for OMT Staff at Main Branches" competition was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM in the exhibition hall of the Algerian building. Dr. Eli Haddad, Dean of the School of Architecture and Design, spoke on behalf of LAU President Dr. Michel Moawad, noting that this initiative represents a unique opportunity for students to develop their skills and introduce their creative work to the real world.
Cecilia Abou Arabid, Director of the Fashion Design Program at the university, praised the role of this initiative in preparing students to confidently and successfully enter the job market. Additionally, Dr. Rodi Kirouz, the First Director of Marketing and Communications at OMT, recalled the late Tawfiq Moawad, Chairman of OMT, who always initiated collaboration with the educational sector to enhance opportunities for innovation and community development, believing in the capabilities of Lebanese youth.
During the ceremony, five third-year students presented their designs that combined institutional character, practicality, and innovation. The three winners were announced: Noor Azzeh in first place, Hadi Saleh in second place, and Sirine Qabisi in third place, receiving trophies from Dean Dr. Eli Haddad and Executive Vice Chairperson Mrs. Jouia Moawad.
The winners received cash prizes distributed as follows: $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $800 for third place, to cover the costs of their senior year projects. OMT will implement the winning design in the coming months, wishing all students success in their professional lives.
