Under the patronage of the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation will organize two significant international events in September. The first event is the Asian Championship for males and females aged 15-17 and for males and females aged 12-14, along with a "Para" competition, taking place from September 2 to 10 under the supervision of the Asian Taekwondo Union. The second event is the fifth annual Beirut Open (G-1 ranked), scheduled for September 11, 12, and 13, under the supervision of the International Taekwondo Federation at the Nohad Nawfal Complex in Zouk Mikael.
Dozens of countries from the largest continent in the world will participate in the continental championship, while the Beirut Open will see the participation of countries from all over the world in a major sporting event in taekwondo, which has been growing significantly for several years and has proven its successes both locally and internationally. The number of attendees arriving in Lebanon, including officials, coaches, players, their families, and media representatives, is expected to exceed five thousand people.
The Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, led by Dr. Habib Zreifeh, continues its preparations and readiness for the two major international events, having formed all the working committees for the competitions some time ago, which have already begun their tasks. A press conference will be held at a later date to officially announce the continental championship and the Beirut Open, in the presence of the taekwondo community and media representatives. In this context, the official opening ceremony of the championship will take place at 5 PM on Sunday, September 3, at the Nohad Nawfal Complex.
