Worst Flood Since 1998 Strikes Southern China

The Chinese website "Bynpai" announced that the city of Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China has experienced its worst flooding since 1998. On June 19, the water levels in Guilin's rivers rose to 148.55 meters due to continuous heavy rainfall, surpassing the 148.4 meters recorded during the catastrophic flood in 1998. Schools and tourist sites in the city have been closed, and 69 people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas.
