Democratic Gathering Continues Its Tour and Meets with Tashnag

The Secretary-General of the Tashnag Party and head of the Armenian parliamentary bloc, Deputy Hagop Pghradounian, received a delegation from the Democratic Gathering bloc, led by the head of the Socialist Party, Deputy Taymour Jumblatt, and attended by Deputies Wael Bou Faour, Hadi Abu Hasan, Zafer Nasser, and Hussam Harb. Abu Hasan emphasized that it is a mistake to cling to preconceived positions and sacrifice the presidency for formalities, which are the start of order for the upcoming elections and state organization. He stated: "We meet in the middle with Tashnag, and we must approach the presidency under the title of settlement." For his part, Pghradounian stressed the "importance of recognizing mistakes and being ready to take advantage of any loophole to reach a solution," adding: "From here, we are advocates of dialogue, discussion, or meeting, and we can help to reach the election of a president as much as possible."

Obstacles and Discontent: In this context, sources from the Progressive Socialist Party announced that "there are two obstacles to consultation between electoral sessions: the insistence of Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri to preside, which he is right about, and the need for a guarantee to avoid the collapse of the quorum from both sides, relying on foreign pressure to facilitate."
