Al-Ahli won (3-1) against the first football team of Hazm on Friday evening in the first round of the Roshan Saudi Professional League.
Alongside the match, there were strong rumors about disagreements between the Al-Ahli management and Algerian star Riyad Boudebouz, the team's playmaker, which is the reason behind attempts to part ways with him. In this context, sports journalist Ali Al-Zahrani denied the existence of any disputes between Boudebouz and the club officials, emphasizing that the Algerian star did not negotiate with the management, as reported in the media, nor did he ask for a salary increase for the new season.
Al-Zahrani stated in an interview during the "Diwaniya" program: "The Algerian star said verbatim to the officials: 'If you decide to terminate my contract, I will become a fan of the team.'"
On another note, the head coach of Al-Ahli, German Matthias Jaissle, requested fans to trust his work during the press conference after the Hazm match. Jaissle acknowledged that there is a lack in several positions within the team and announced that they are working on signing another defender in the current summer transfer window.
