Two Killed in Armed Attack on Election Vehicle in Iran

Armed unknown assailants attacked a vehicle carrying ballot boxes in the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran this Saturday morning, resulting in the deaths of two security personnel. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, although the Baluchi opposition group Jaish ul-Adl, which Tehran considers a terrorist organization, is active in the Sistan and Baluchestan region adjacent to the border with Pakistan. The counting of votes in the Iranian presidential elections has begun, following the announcement by the Elections Committee of the Iranian Ministry of Interior on Friday evening regarding the closure of polling stations.
