Al Ahli Youth Club overwhelmed Hatta with ten goals to none in the match held on Sunday evening, part of the 26th round of the Adnoc Pro League.
Al Ahli Youth Club became the first team in the history of the UAE league, since the professional era began in the 2008-2009 season, to score 9 or more goals in a single match. The team broke the previous record held by Al Wasl, who had scored 8 goals in 3 previous matches.
In previous seasons, Al Ahli Youth Club had beaten Ajman 8-0 in the 2009-2010 season and faced Fujairah with a score of 8-1 in the 2015-2016 season, while Al Wasl triumphed over Dibba Al Fujairah 8-0 in the 2016-2017 season.
Al Ahli Youth Club secured second place in the UAE league standings for the 2023-2024 season with 58 points, trailing behind Al Wasl by 9 points, who officially claimed the league title earlier along with winning the President's Cup. Despite this, Al Ahli Youth Club had the strongest attack in the tournament last season, scoring 73 goals, 3 goals ahead of the champion Al Wasl.
