Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a call from UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, during which they discussed relations between Lebanon and the UK as well as the situation in the region. Lammy emphasized the effort to address the tense situations in southern Lebanon and Gaza, and to work together for peace and security in the Middle East, noting that he would visit Lebanon soon. He stated, "I expressed my concerns about the rising tensions on Lebanon's borders and the increasing likelihood of miscalculation." He believed that "escalation of the conflict is not in anyone's interest, and the United Kingdom wants to see this resolved peacefully through a negotiated settlement."
